Freelance writing – get paid more

I’ve been writing about the outsourcing sites recently, simply because they’re such a great training ground for writers.

If you’re determined to make a success of your freelance writing career, the outsourcing sites give you a fast start to success. I know that your two biggest concerns on these sites are: winning projects and getting paid what you deserve.

So let’s address them.

1. Winning writing projects

I’ve covered winning writing projects in this article, so I won’t go over the same ground. However, please realize that it will take you a month or so to win writing projects consistently, so that you can quit your day job if you wish.

(Feedback makes all the difference, so always ask for it.)

Once you’re getting all the work you can handle, it’s time to move on. You should only ever look on these sites as a training ground: once you know how to interact with clients and complete writing jobs, it’s time to set up your own writing services business.

2. Getting paid what you deserve

Payment for your writing varies, as you know. :-)

The more experience and skill you have, the more value you provide to your clients, so the more you can charge.

If you’re in the first few months of a writing career, don’t concern yourself too much about how much you’re getting paid. You’re getting a lot of experience.

You will KNOW when you’re worth more. At that stage, you’ll go for bigger clients and bigger projects which do pay more. You’ll feel comfortable saying: “I charge $150 an hour”, and you’ll happily reject projects which don’t pay enough.

Develop a great income writing for the Web – start by writing simple articles

I’ve developed “Sell Your Writing Online Now” (SYWON) to help you to start making money writing online in 24 hours or less.

Each week, for one full year, you’ll receive a lesson, with an assignment which will build your Web writing income – you EARN as you learn.

SYWON is totally unique, and if you want to write for the Web, it’s your ticket to success.
