Writing for promotion – the easiest way to get known

by angela.booth on June 18, 2007

As a freelance writer, you need to get known. Once you’re known as a writer, you can charge excellent rates for your work, and get them. If you’re not known as a writer, you’re left struggling for writing gigs.

The easiest way to get known as a writer is to promote yourself online by writing articles for others to publish. Each of your articles contains what’s known as a “bio box”, which is an ad for your writing services.

This strategy works. It cost you nothing except a little time, and when you combine it with a strategy like blogging, your marketing efforts become cumulative, because everything you write stays online, getting you writing gigs for years to come.
