Copywriting made simple, powerful and practical
I’ve been teaching this class in one form or another for years. I’m thrilled that students have gone on to develop successful copywriting practices, or to corporate marketing gigs.
Over the past couple of years I’ve been updating the class to include social media copywriting, as well as other marketing developments. The fundamentals of copywriting always remain the same.
How the class works: open enrollment
Copywriting Pro: Build Your Copywriting Business In 10 Weeks has open enrollment. This means that you can enroll when you choose. You download the first lesson immediately. You’ll receive another lesson each week, for a further nine weeks.

“What do copywriters write?”
Copywriters write words that sell. These words can be anything from a company report or manual, to standard online and offline advertising. Or the words might be in the form of scripts for videos and audio.
In an ordinary day in your copywriting practice you might write anything from a tagline (a sentence), to a marketing campaign for a new product. That’s what I love about copywriting — you never know what the day will bring.
You’ll write copy for agencies, including advertising and web development agencies, as well as for companies, both large and small.
Who can take this class?
YOU can. There are no age, education or other restrictions. As a copywriter, your greatest asset is your enthusiasm. I’m fond of saying that if you can write an email message which gets a response, you can write copy.
If you’re a self-publishing author, you’ll find that the class will help you to sell your books, and of course, copywriting provides you with an additional income stream.
I started copywriting by accident. At the time, I wrote romance novels for a British publisher. Since I love tinkering with words, I adored copywriting immediately. As a copywriter, you can write a page, and be surprised at your client’s immense gratitude for what seems (to you) minimal effort.
It’s not minimal effort of course. Without being aware of it, copywriters have spent years learning how words work.
So, if words fascinate you and you like playing with them — and you’re very curious — you’ll love copywriting.
