I’m a sucker for new WordPress themes especially the default themes. Over the past three years, the baked-in default themes have been great.
The latest in this line, is the Twenty Thirteen “Oscar” theme. I’m using it on my Writing Hacker site, as-is. I’ll be tinkering with it in the days to come, but for now, it’s as WordPress created it.
Here’s what I love: Twenty Thirteen looks great on any device because the theme is responsive. Responsive themes display smoothly across many different devices, automatically. So your website will look great and perform well on desktop computers, phones, and on tablet computers too.
More post formats
I also love the additional post formats.
In addition to the Standard post, you’ve got Aside, as well as Link, Status and Quote. This turns WordPress into more of a social media animal, like Tumblr.
Here’s a video intro to Twenty Thirteen.
