Writers tend to devalue writing. Generally speaking, we enjoy writing, and it comes easily to us. It’s just something we do. So we don’t value our communications’ abilities as highly as we should.
Many writers are willing to write for a pittance. “You want to pay me $5 for 800 words? Thank you, yes. I’ll get the article to you later today…”
For these writers, writing is a hobby. Chances are it will never be more than a hobby, and that’s fine. Whatever floats your boat. If you’re a hobbyist writer, making $150 an hour or more as a writer may be way out of your realm of experience, never mind your comfort zone.
Even the thought of making $150 an hour may make you feel lightheaded… 🙂
Here’s an article on freelance writer earnings:
“Earnings for all types of freelancers
12% make over $100 an hour
41% make over $70 an hour
67.5% make over $50 an hour”
Again — how much money are you making as a freelance writer?
More to the point, how much would you like to make?
Please believe that you can make money writing. How much you make is up to you.
