It’s September already — eek! Time to get ready for Christmas.
If you’re a blogger, you know that you need to spend this month developing your holiday blogs; the blogs which will ensure that you have a very merry Christmas.
In “Blogging For Dollars” I give you five ways to become a blog entrepreneur. One of those ways is to create affiliate blogs.
NOW is the time to create affiliate and product blogs, so that you can take advantage of the holiday splurge.
Finding ideas for affiliate blogs is easy. Just this morning, I received a couple of press releases from Amazon, for the new Paperwhite and the new Kindle Fires.
As you’re reading this, bloggers are planning to add promotions for these products to existing blogs, and are planning brand new blogs to promote these new devices.
Millions of these devices will be sold. Many millions of dollars will be spent. Savvy bloggers will get a share of that.
Years ago, a friend started a Christmas ornaments blog. She’s since created several spin-off blogs from that one blog. Christmases have come and gone. She told me recently that those blogs become more profitable every year, even though she spends little time maintaining them.
Tip: Ideas for Christmas Blogs Are Everywhere
Here are a few ideas for Christmas blogs: decorating for Christmas, hot Christmas toys, “how to” blogs for creating goodies like holiday cakes and Christmas cards, holiday travel, holiday food, Christmas on a budget, luxury goods, Christmas organizing, and holiday psychology (dealing with stress).
Blogging can ensure that you and yours have the best Christmas ever, while laying the foundations for many happy holidays to come.
Needless to say, I have plans for several holiday blogs.
Why don’t you join me, and start planning your own? Now is the time…
Prepare your freelance writing biz for the holidays too
Of course, you should be preparing your freelance writing business for holiday madness too:
Now’s the time to see what local business people will be promoting over the holiday season, and thinking about how you can help them with their promotions. You’re a writer, so you shouldn’t be thinking about how much cash you’ll be spending over the holidays, you need to be thinking about how you can help people to make sales.
