In tomorrow’s Fab Freelance Writing Ezine, we’re discussing your ebooks business.
From the Editorial:
If you read forums like the Writer’s Cafe, you’ll see that writers are taking advantage of the ebook bonanza.
However, we’re still in the very early phases of the the publishing industry’s forced migration from print to digital. In 2011, ebook sales made up just 15% of total book sales.
Writers are well aware that ebooks equal money; in some cases, big money. Each week, I receive dozens of questions about ebook publishing — many more than I have time to answer.
Writers want to know how to get started. They want to know what sells. They want to know how much money they can expect to make, and on, and on…
Here’s a BIG tip…
“No one knows anything” — William Goldman
Goldman was talking about movies, specifically, his “strong belief that, prior to a movie’s release, Hollywood has no real idea how well a film will do.”
The same applies to books, ebooks or print. No one knows anything. So take the advice I give you with a grain of salt. 🙂
I have no idea how well your new ebook on astrology and dating will do. Nor do I know whether you can make money publishing your great grandmother’s diaries. As for your series of erotic novels, I don’t know how they’ll go either, but Fifty Shades of Grey seems to be doing well…
It’s ALL UP TO YOU. And luck.
