Freelance copywriting for high and fast pay and low competition

There are many, many ways you can sell your words. Unfortunately, when beginning writers think about a freelance career,they rarely think beyond freelance journalism.

While freelance journalism – selling to newspapers and magazines – is fine, it has drawbacks. The primary drawbacks are low pay, high competition, and waiting months for payment.

I prefer freelance copywriting to freelance journalism because you get paid faster and are paid more, and there’s much less competition. In my writing classes, I always recommend that beginning freelancers focus on writing for business (copywriting) because it builds their confidence.
