This week on our online store, we have two fiction writing offerings for you. The first is for short story writers, the second is for novelists. Please be aware that our short story program, Fiction Fiesta, with its Workbook, is closing.
Fiction Fiesta: Write Short Kindle Fiction for Fun and Profit — WORKBOOK (closing soon)
Fiction Fiesta, with the included Workbook, is a complete program which helps you to write and publish SHORT fiction.
These days you can make great money writing short stories. That hasn’t happened in decades. I sold my first short story way back in the 1970s. At the time, I wrote the stories for fun. Publication was a challenge. There were few high-paying markets, and even fewer writers could make anything like a living at it. The stories taught me a lot however, and by the 1980s, I achieved a multi-book contract for a series of romance novels.
A few years after that, I stopped writing fiction. It wasn’t worth the hassle — I foolishly signed several bad contracts, due to the efforts of a couple of New York literary agents. For the next couple of decades, I focused on various forms of writing which paid well: copywriting of course, ghostwriting, writing for magazines, and writing business books.
Writing fiction seemed to be a luxury I couldn’t afford. The world has changed. Amazon changed the writing world when it launched the Kindle in November of 2007. Now you can make a great living writing fiction, as long as you know HOW.
Apropos of “how”, please don’t ask me whether you need TALENT. Talent is lovely, and wonderful if you’ve been it as a gift. However, talent takes you nowhere without knowledge, practice, and more practice. And publication of course, so that you can get feedback from readers.
Fiction Fiesta is an amazing guide to writing short stories in four easy (and fun) lessons.
Pro Novelist’s Companion: Write Your Novel in 30 Days (and Publish It)
Can you REALLY write your novel in just 30 days? Of course you can. It’s no death-defying trick. Novelists both new and established do it every November, for NaNoWriMo. Writing a novel is easy. What’s challenging is writing a sales-worthy novel, and doing it in a reasonable time frame.
If you read my writing journal, you know that I’m a ghostwriter. A ghostwriter, whether he’s writing fiction or nonfiction, not only needs to be able to write fast, he also needs to be able to write well. I love ghostwriting, because I love writing.
However, I can’t take forever on a project, because a client’s waiting for it. So, over the years, I’ve developed lots of tricks, which I’ll share with you in this program.
You can, and will complete your novel, and get it published.
Please be aware that the offering on Pro Novelist’s companion can’t be repeated. Read this page for the reasons.
So, there you have it. In the spirit of NaNoWriMo, whether you’ve joined it or not, this week we have two fiction writing offerings to help you to write, publish, and sell. Enjoy. 🙂
