Yesterday, we talked about writing calendar-based PLR, “PLR By the Calendar: Write for Hungry Buyers“. Few writers do this — the market is wide open; there’s little competition.
Today, let’s look at writing and selling what I call: “local” PLR.
When it comes to Private Label Rights (PLR) content (content that you sell to which the buyer buys all rights), most writers stick to the tried and true. They choose topics like pets, health, self-help, social media, etc.
These topics are hugely popular. This means that there’s competition; you’ll need to advertise your own PLR heavily so that you can stand out, and get attention and sales.
The time you spend on advertising and marketing is time you could be spending writing more.
Why not choose topics for which there are guaranteed buyers? You can make sales easily. Moreover, you’ll get lots of extra content writing commissions, because some of your clients will want exclusive content too. Davey, one of my SYWON (Sell Your Writing Online Now) students, has built up an amazing business with local PLR. He’s working with five writers who are subcontracted to him, both to provide PLR, and to provide exclusive content.
“Local” PLR — PLR for local businesses
Local PLR is PLR which you write for local businesses. Every city and town has professionals and trades people — doctors, lawyers, dentists, veterinarians, plumbers, electricians, etc.
These people often don’t have a Web site, even though they’re well aware that they need one. Moreover, even if they do have a website, this site has little content. Since these local business people are in business, they know the value of a good website. However, they’re busy. They don’t have the time to focus on a site.
This is where PLR comes in. If a local plumber doesn’t have a website, PLR helps him to get a site up and running quickly. Indeed, if you’re familiar with WordPress, you can get a site for a local plumber online within a couple of hours. If you’re unfamiliar, you can hire someone on Fiverr.com to get a site online for you very quickly. You load the site with PLR, which you customize to suit the business.
Alternatively, if the business already has a website, you sell them PLR for additional content.
Local businesses aren’t in competition with local businesses a town away
Local businesses are local, because their customers come from the local community. This means that you can sell lots of PLR, because a plumber in one city, isn’t in competition with plumbers in another city.
Can you see that when you create “local” PLR, you create PLR which is a sure-fire bestseller?
Writing and selling PLR is a huge opportunity for writers going forward.
Find creative ways to do it. Calendar-based PLR, and local PLR, are two forms of PLR for which there’s little competition, and high demand. If you love to write, start writing. 🙂
