Last last year, we described 12 writing challenges in this article, 12 Writing Challenges YOU CAN Eliminate In 2012 | Angela Booth’s Fab Freelance Writing Blog. The challenges included:
“5. The ‘They Don’t Pay Me Enough’ Challenge
They ‘don’t pay you enough’ because you don’t ask for enough.
ASK for what you want.
6. The ‘OMG I Missed a Deadline’ Challenge
Contact your client immediately. Apologize, and give the client a discount. If you’re really professional, you’ll do the work for free. That will inspire you never to miss another deadline.”
How are you doing with the challenges?
Over the past week, I’ve had several messages from writers who did brilliantly at the start of the year, then something happened. Now that we’re looking toward 2013 (and the holiday season is upon us), they want to kickstart their career again.
You can eliminate all 12 challenges: pick one
The challenges I covered in the article are common to many writers. You can overcome them, I tell you how in the article.
Your biggest challenge is yourself, of course.
That’s as true for me, as it is for everyone else. This year, I meant to have at least two novels on the Kindle store… But…
That’s OK. It is what it is. Life will always get in the way of what you want to achieve. There’s no getting around that. However, if you pick ONE of the challenges right now, and work with it, you’ll instantly improve your writing life.
Here’s a secret: when you overcome one challenge, the rest are much easier — things will fall into place.
So, pick ONE challenge, and work with it for the rest of 2012. You’ll be surprised at the boost it gives your writing career.
