Got AdSense On Your Blog? Pay Attention

Over the years, various naive bloggers have favored a “free speech” policy on their blogs. They allow readers to post anything they choose in the comments… And sometimes they receive a rude awakening when they get sued, or worse.

It’s your choice of course. If you want to live dangerously, you can let your readers post anything they please…

But not if you’re running AdSense.

If you’ve got AdSense on your blog, pay attention to everything on your blog, including comments.

Here’s what the Inside AdSense Blog has to say.

AdSense Facts & Fictions Part VI: User-Generated Content – Inside AdSense:

“Fiction: I shouldn’t be held responsible if users post content on my site or network that violates AdSense policies.

Fact: You are responsible for ensuring that all of your content, including user-generated content such as forum posts, blog comments or outside feeds, is in compliance with AdSense policies on any page or site for which you’ve enabled AdSense ads.”

Google always means what it says. So, ignorance is no excuse. If you violate Google’s policies, it’s goodbye to AdSense income.
