Want to make more money from your blog? You can. In this article we’ll look at three methods to help you to do that. Your site can become more valuable to you over time.
I’ve been blogging for a decade now. It was once an esoteric activity, but over the past few years, it’s become mainstream. Although it’s more competitive now, there are also many more opportunities than there used to be.
1. Do More of What’s Working
Your first step is to assess your current situation. View your statistics over the past three months to check:
* Your most popular posts — what do they tell you about the interests and needs of your readers?
* Your income over the past three months, and where it’s coming from;
* Your keywords. Which are the most profitable for you?
Now you know what’s working on your blog, it’s time to do more of what’s working. If you’ve identified a trend, that’s excellent. Make a note of that.
A tip: remember that some trends are seasonal, so your statistics may be skewed by the time of year. If you have stats from previous years, check them.
2. Become a Salesperson
Your blog is a publication. Take a cue from how newspapers and magazines manage their businesses, and separate your editorial (content creation) activities from the purely commercial (generating income.)
Many bloggers find that this is a real challenge. If this is so for you, you’ll benefit from getting advice. You’re too close to see your site’s potential clearly.
Find a knowledgeable marketer, and ask him to look over your blog.
3. Create Your Own Product from Your Blog
Your blog is a platform for you to build on. Your readers are valuable. You can help them, and increase your income, if you create products which will appeal to them.
Your investigations have shown you where your reader’s interests lie. Consider creating your own product.
You’ll be surprised that once you start looking for them, there are endless opportunities hiding in your blog. Identify them, and prosper.
