Make Money Writing for the Article Directories

There are a host of different ways to make money writing articles online. One way is to write for article directories, such as Ezine Articles, Hub Pages and iSnare.

The concept of all these sites is similar. People writing articles for the sites are using information marketing, and are aiming to advertise products or services. All these sites accept some level of back-linking to take readers to a web site where they (or the person employing them to write) promotes whatever it is they do to make money. But the quality of writing that is ultimately accepted by the different sites does differ, and so do the rules.

I first learnt about these sites when I was contracted to write articles for a woman who was trying to sell a prestigious property. I have subsequently ghost written articles for a number of other people about a variety of subjects.

I learnt pretty quickly that unless you work according to the rules of the site, you won’t be published. But once you get the hang of what they want, it’s easy. Just last week I earned Platinum status on Ezine Articles under a pseudonym, writing for hire. Now I’ve been hired to write more articles that I post on the Ezine Articles site and ensure are linked to their sales site.

My clients are making money and so am I. :-)

About penny

Even though I wasn't particularly good at writing essays when I was at school, I have been writing for most of my life. My father was a newspaper editor and I practically grew up in the newsroom. It wasn't that he wanted to initiate me to the way of life, but rather that we enjoyed each other's company. Eventually, armed with a useless Bachelor of Social Science degree, I decided I wanted to be a journalist. Nothing he could say would change my mind. In fact the more he tried to put me off the more determined I became. All these years later I still yearn for the thrill of chasing news stories and sharing the newsroom buzz. But when I got married I drifted into magazines and wrote about crafts, homes and gardens. Then I had children and wrote for a family magazine. I shared the birth of my first son on the pages of this publication. Spreading my wings to bigger things, I managed to become a respected author of multiple non-fiction books, mostly home improvement, with a smattering of horses. I've been lucky to get projects that match my interests and passions. Today I have turned to the Internet as a source of writing income. It lacks the newsroom buzz and the prestige of quality printed media, but it offers variety and the opportunity to work from home.
