1. Keep Your Ebooks Short: No One Wants to Read at the Computer
Short ebooks sell better. Just provide your readers with the information they want. No one wants to sit at their computer and read: they want information, and then they want to use that information.
I’ve seen ebooks which were 200 pages of sheer waffle. The salient information, which people were paying for, could have been covered in three pages.
Ten to 20 pages is fine.
2. Focus on What Your Audience Wants
Once you’ve decided on a topic, read forums. Which questions come up again and again? Make a list.
Once you have a list, choose a question, and then answer it in your ebook.
3. Write Your Sales Page As You Write Your Ebook
Keep the primary question your ebook answers in front of you as you write.
Additionally, keep the file for your sales page open as you write. You can write them together, so that your sales page is ready to upload to your website or blog quickly.
Bonus tip: stay focused. Once you start writing, keep going until you finish. Schedule your time. Skip TV, computer games and distractions like Facebook. Sometimes the writing will flow, at other times you’ll sit staring at the computer screen. Stare until the flow of words starts again.
