Writing is communicating. Come out of hiding

by angela.booth on December 19, 2009

I hope you’ve currently got more writing jobs than you can handle. Writing jobs are everywhere.

If you can’t get great jobs at great rates, you’re not promoting yourself. Come out of hiding — please.

Copy out these words from this article Stealth Startups, Get Over Yourselves: Nobody Cares About Your Secrets and paste them on your monitor:

“When you’re starting up, you usually have a great idea and think you know what your customers need. But your customers don’t even know what they need—they know what they don’t like and think they know what they want—but they don’t know what they need. Customers will ultimately buy only those things they really need – no matter how good your product or sales pitch.”

The way to get jobs consistently is to promote yourself and interact with potential clients. Truer words were never spoken: “your customers don’t even know what they need”.

They don’t. They don’t have communication skills. You do. Share them, and you’ll agree with me that there’s never been a more exciting time to be a writer.
