Writers’ gifts: treat yourself or someone else

It’s that time of year again, where you try to come up with unique gifts for the writers in your life.

Writers are easy people to shop for. You can buy books, calendars, pens, notebooks…

This article recommends something different: “cloud” services.

Gifts for Those Who Have Everything … in the Cloud – Advertising Age – Steve Rubel says:

“The holiday crush is on and the clock is ticking. But what do you get the geek or coworker in your life who has (or wants) everything? How about something intangible: a web-service subscription.”

I use the paid versions of both Evernote and Dropbox, and recommend them highly; they’re fantastic if you use more than one computer, because you can access your files from anywhere. Great gifts.
