NEW SERIES “Writers Without Borders”

by angela.booth on July 10, 2009

In next week’s issue of Fab Freelance Writing Ezine we’re starting a new series, “Writers Without Borders: Winning Freelance Writing Freedom On The Web”.

Here’s an excerpt from the Editorial:

I’ll be developing an ebook package from this series, which focuses on the FREEDOM aspect of freelance writing.

Here’s why I think this is important: many/ most freelance writers, whether new or established, have NO understanding of the opportunities the Web offers them.

They scrabble around, whining because they’re asked to write for $5 an article or whatever. This is NOT freelance writing. I’m not sure what it is, to be honest, aside from a failure of nerve and initiative.

Important: I’m not saying it’s wrong to write for $5 an article. If you’re a new writer, with no background in writing, you’ll have to write at this level until a few clients have paid you for your words. However, please understand that this is not a roadblock, it’s a signpost on the way: it’s necessary, so that you get some testimonials. Getting those testimonials is your aim – you’re being paid to LEARN.

Once you’ve got your testimonials, you’re on your way to building a great income. Others have done it, you can do it too. Please understand that there are many writers who are making double and triple what they made in their previous day job in their first year as a freelance writer.

Enjoy.

This issue will be out next Tuesday.
