Your Writers’ Web Site: end the excuses

If had a dollar for every writer who’s whined to me that they “haven’t got time to create a Web site”, I’d have enough money to kick back in Noosa and spend my life writing mystery novels.

Do you really believe that you don’t have time to create your own site?

Give Posterous a try. To set up your own site, JUST send ONE email message. That’s all. That’s it — you’re done.

How long will that take you? Just do it. :-)

I’ve had a Posterous account since last year, but haven’t paid much attention to it. Then I read Steve Rubel’s post (and apologies to Steve from whom I pinched the “life stream” idea):

Second, with each post I can control where it syndicates. Currently I post to Posterous and Facebook. Then I let Friendfeed scoop up the RSS and push it into Twitter. This reduces duplicates. “

So I’ve decided to pay more attention to it, because what’s simpler than sending an email message to post to a blog? I like the idea that you can track posts’ popularity, too.

If you want to use Posterous as your primary writing site, it’s easy. Just make sure that you edit your profile to show all the different types of writing you do. BTW, you’re not limited to one Posterous site, you can create many of them…
