Are you promoting your copywriting services effectively? Advertising and other forms of promotion are essential whether you’re a new copywriter or are an experienced pro. Let’s look at how you can promote your services and increase your income fast.
1. Make a List of the Copywriting Services You Provide
Each of your services should be promoted individually. For example perhaps you offer a Web sales page writing service, pay per click advertising campaigns, and direct response copywriting campaigns too.
Since each of those particular services has a different client base, you need to promote them individually.
In fact, if any of the services that you provide are targeted at more than one audience, then you need to promote to each individual audience specifically. The more targeted your marketing, the more effective it will be.
Please make time to market your services thoughtfully: make time for marketing every day. I don’t know why it is but copywriters are prone to marketing their clients services much more effectively than they market their own.
2. Choose One Service to Promote, and Its Audience, Each Week
Just as you create marketing campaigns for your clients, create them for yourself too. Each week, choose one particular service to promote and one audience to which which you’ll promote that particular service.
For example perhaps this week you’ve decided to promote your sales page copywriting service to plastic surgeons. Next week you could decide to promote the same service to lawyers. Or perhaps you’ll promote a different service to a different target audience next week.
The more narrowly you target your promotions the more effective they will be.
3. Stay in Touch With All Your Clients
Here’s a cheap form of promotion many copywriters don’t consider: stay in touch with past clients. It’s much easier to get jobs from people who already know you and your skills, than it is to develop new clients.
Send out an email message to your past clients each week. Brag about your successes. You’ll get new copywriting jobs with each email you send out.
