Content Writing for Blogs: the Basics

Are you making money with your blogs? To make money you need content. However often the content well runs dry after a couple of months for many bloggers. Let’s look at how you can create great content, month after month and year after year.

1. Create a Content Plan for Your Blog

If generating content for your blog is difficult for you, it’s because you don’t have a plan. You need a plan which makes it easy to create content whenever you have a spare moment.

For example, I stumbled into my home office an hour ago, and I’ve had my first cup of coffee: I’m half awake. However I’ve already written three blog posts. Writing those blog posts was easy because I created a plan several weeks ago for this particular blog.

A content plan is essential for any blog. Your plan doesn’t need to be complicated. You just need to plan how many blog posts you will write each week, decide on which audience and keywords you’ll be targeting, create the titles of your posts, and if you’re feeling really energetic you can write an outline for each of the posts too.

When you have a plan you eliminate procrastination. No matter how tired and weary you are, you’ll nevertheless write your blog posts because you planned them all out. This saves you lots of time over the week and means that you can create more content, and promote your blog more, so that you can make more money.

2. Getting Traffic: Who’s Your Audience? What Will Attract Them?

In addition to planning your content you need to plan your methods of traffic generation. I like to plan my marketing at least a month in advance. As with planning content, planning marketing means that I save time and am able to create more content.

3. Put Your Plan Into Action Daily

The more time and energy you spend on your blog the more money you will make, as long as you follow the tips above. So work with your blog each day. When you plan your blog’s content working on your blog will be fun.
