If you’re a freelance writer who hasn’t yet discovered Squidoo, do yourself a favor and put “MAKE LENSES” on your To Do list for 2009.
I’ve just started a new blog for Sell Your Writing Online NOW (SYWON) subscribers (and for you, too of course), and just posted “Make Money Writing: With Squidoo”, to give you an inkling of why Squidoo is so useful for writers.
Once you’ve got a lens or a couple of dozen of them comes the fun of getting traffic.
30 Ways to Increase Squidoo Traffic | Squidüber offers some ideas:
“11. Start up your own blog, completely free, and promote your lenses there.
12. Build a few lenses on the same topic and cross-promote them.
13. Write good articles about your lens topic and submit them to places like ezinearticles, of course don’t forget to link to your lens.
14. Promote your lens on social networks like MySpace and Facebook.”
The idea of linking your lenses and your blogs is that it increases your presence online. An improved presence gets you writing jobs, and of course money in other ways if you’re monetizing Web sites.
Try it. Squidoo is free to use. You’ll like it.

Squidoo is both addicting and helpful. The lens I created on how to write a letter proposal gets more than 60 visitors sometimes. It’s great that you are letting others know about it. =) I even have a lens for my celebrity crush, Karl Urban.
