Commercial writing requires a different mind set from writing for yourself. If you’ve been writing short stories, poetry etc, you need to make a mental adjustment.

As your writing skills develop, you’ll start to realize that the people/ businesses who are hiring you to write are making money from YOUR words. This will intrigue you sufficiently to explore ways of cutting out the middle men, and of keep your words so that you make money from them.

When you make money from your writing yourself, you’re creating your own Web sites and blogs, writing your own ebooks and your own copy — and get to keep all the profits.
