Writing for the Web – are you taking advantage of the unlimited opportunities?

As writers, we’re focused on the written word. However, this intense focus can lead to blindness. We get very focused on whatever it is that we’re writing, to the exclusion of other forms of writing – more profitable forms, in many cases.

I know that that’s been true for me, and I imagine that it’s true for you as well.

So, I encourage you to look around, and take notice of the unlimited opportunities the Web gives to writers.

And no, when I say “unlimited opportunities” I’m not using hyperbole.

For example, here’s a brand new opportunity: video.

Videos need writers – are you capitalizing on this new trend?

If you can write an article, chances are that you can write a video script. You can steal a march on thousands of other writers by writing some sample scripts, getting them produced, and posting them on YouTube as samples of your script writing.

(If you don’t know how to create a video ask a teenager.)

I just did a Google search for “writer video scripts”.

Know what I found? Lots of people looking for script writers via job postings, but no writer who’s actually promoting himself/ herself as a script writer.

This could be a great opportunity for you.
