What do you want your writer’s Web site to do?

by angela.booth on September 18, 2008

You’re about to create a Web site to promote your freelance writing services business. (Or perhaps you already have one.)

That’s great. Your Web site will change your writing life; it will open possibilities for you that you haven’t dreamed of.

To get the most from your site, please complete this sentence:

“I want my site to __________ because __________”.

Here’s an example:

“I want my Web site to promote my article writing services because I want to lift my rates from $25 an hour to $125 an hour this year.”

Or:

“I want my site to help people with their parenting skills because I think there’s room for a book on this topic, and I want to get known in this area.”

Or:

“I want my site to bring me writing jobs without hunting for them because I want to become a full time freelance writer.”

It’s essential you know what you want your site to do. Once you know what you want it to do, you’ll be amazed at how quickly your site accomplishes the task for you.

Make money writing Web sites

If you can use a word processor, you can write Web sites.

Many writers shy away from creating Web sites… they imagine it’s too techy, too complex. It’s not. A small simple site can begin earning money for you very quickly. As a rule of thumb, if you’ve created a site in an area in which there are advertisers you can start earning five to ten dollars a day per site. Now $10 a day isn’t much. But what if you had ten sites all earning $10 day? That’s $100 a day, which is $36,500 a year, just from ten simple sites. What if you had 20 such sites, all earning you $10 a day – or even more – in fact, some sites will earn you $100 a day? “Super-Fast Money-Making Web Sites For Writers: Join The Web-Publishing Bonanza” shows you how.
