Another question from an ezine subscriber: “How much do you make as a freelance writer?” I’m assuming the writer means “you” in general, rather than me personally.
How much do freelance writers make?
At the top end of the scale, you have professional writers who are making six and seven figures. These are copywriters, Web writers, and some “name” novelists.
At the bottom of the scale, you have hobbyist writers, who might sell a few magazines articles a year, and who make less than $5000 a year.
Freelance writers who are freelancing full time make as much and more (depending on what they’re writing) than they made at their day job.
How much you make depends on you. The more you know, and the more experience you have, the more you will earn.
These days, bloggers are among the big money earners in freelance writing. I know several bloggers who are blogging for a stable of between 20 and 30 blogs each month. They’re making upwards of $20,000 per month.
If you’re willing to learn, and to write, you can make as much money as you please.
Struggling To Find Writing Jobs?
Freelance writers just don’t realize how much money there is to be made by writing for the Web: many writers use the Web as a research tool, they don’t see the Web as a mass of millions of markets. They don’t realize that Web sites are STARVED for good writers.
