How do you keep track of your freelance life? I have PIMs, both online and offline. I also use HighRise and BackPack to stay on top of projects, and now I have a virtual personal assistant, Sandy.

Sandy is your ultimate (free) personal assistant. You just send her an email and she remembers what you’ve told her. She’ll remind you of what’s next on your schedule, warn you of meetings you’ll miss if you don’t leave right now, file information you want to keep, and much more.

Here’s a sample of stuff Sandy can handle for you:

Examples for professionals
Your life is too big to fit in Outlook — much of it composed of myriad details that are either too small or too fleeting to make the cut. But that doesn’t make them any less important.

Remember update project waterfall @todo, @”project x”
Remind me I have a Marketing meeting on 3/14 at 1-2pm
Remember my United mileage number is abcde12345 @travel
Remind me about my Yoga class on Tuesday, 8-9am @weekly
Remember JFK to SFO, United #302 Mon 3pm EST - 5pm PST @travel @”West Coast Sales Conference”

I’ve just started to use Sandy, and I’m amazed at how easy and natural it is - you just send Sandy an email to get her working for you.

Sandy’s very clever, and is ideal for managing all those pieces of data you scrawl on sticky notes, and if you’re anything like me, stuff you write on your hand so you won’t forget.
