Freelance writing: it’s a business

As a freelance writer, you’re running your own business. This means that the more you know about small business, the more successful you will be. Selling your writing is not that much different from selling anything else. The only real difference is that you’re creating the products that you’re selling.

Take business courses. Wherever you live, there are colleges which offer courses in marketing, promotion, and running a small business. Take a course. I promise you that if you take a business course in 2007, not only will you make more money as a freelance writer, but you’ll get a million new ideas of topics that you can write about.
