Way back in 2000 Stephen King made his ebook “Riding the Bullet” freely available online. King said:

“While I think that the Internet and various computer applications for stories have great promise, I don’t think anything will replace the printed word and the bound book.”

Nevertheless, until 2003 the online writing world was awash with people creating ebooks and selling them.

Did they make money?

You bet.

The challenge of distribution - you need to promote your ebooks
While anyone can make money with ebooks, ebooks have a huge challenge, and that’s distribution. You’d think that the distribution was a snap. After all, once an ebook is online, anyone can find it via the search engines, and buy it.

But it’s not that easy. Once you’ve written your ebook, and it’s online, you need to promote it so that people know that it’s available, and the promotion needs to be ongoing.

That said, if you’re enthusiastic about the potential of ebooks, write and publish; just be aware that PROMOTION is vital.

You can see a list of my own currently available ebooks here.
