As a freelance writer, you need to have goals, and one of your primary goals should be to create a demand for your writing services. This is because freelance writing is a business, and as with any business, when the demand outstrips the supply, the prices go up.

A greater demand means more money
When there’s a competing demand, you can raise your rates, and make more. This isn’t greed, it’s common sense. Writing takes time and energy. You expend the same amount of energy writing for a low-paying publication as you do for a great-paying publication or client.

So how do you create a demand?

You create a demand by marketing your services every day.
